Experienced in all facets of taxation for closely-held businesses and their owners, Mr. Komos has developed specializations in real estate, personal financial planning, and estate planning and trusts.  He has extensive experience in the real estate industry and its unique rules and planning opportunities for property owners.  His experience includes working on complex tax strategies such as delayed like-kind exchanges and involuntary conversions.  He has spoken frequently on tax planning and related issues at events sponsored by real estate industry organizations and has had several articles published in real estate industry publications.

As a Certified Financial Planner™, Mr. Komos directs the firm’s personal financial planning team.  He has designed comprehensive personal financial plans as well as segmented plans focusing on specific financial issues for business owners and other clients. Common areas of concern included retirement planning, estate planning, business succession planning, investment portfolio review, and specific-goal funding.  Mr. Komos sets himself apart from most other financial advisors in that in addition to being a CPA and CFP®, he has an insurance license and is also a registered representative who has passed the FINRA Series 6, 7, and 63 examinations.

His experience includes the design and implementation of numerous types of trusts, partnerships, and other tools to meet the client’s objectives.  These plans typically relate to the integration of corporate and individual financial and tax planning strategies, taking into account income, estate and gift taxes, and other financial considerations.  Such planning usually involves working closely with other professionals, such as the client’s attorney, banker, and investment advisors.  In this capacity, Mr. Komos is also responsible for direction and final review of all federal trust and estate tax returns prepared and filed by Ciuni & Panichi.

As Technology Director for Ciuni & Panichi, Mr. Komos is also responsible for the firm’s data processing activities.  His duties include hardware and software purchasing, administration of the firm’s networks and various servers, and the integration of these systems to enable the staff to work more efficiently.
