David M. Reape, CPA

Mr. Reape specializes in tax-exempt entities and closely-held businesses, providing tax review, planning, research, consulting, and compliance services for not-for-profit organizations, S-corporations, C-corporations, high net worth individuals, partnerships, and state and local tax planning. In addition, he has experience helping clients with corporate restructuring and planning and has represented various clients during audits by the Internal Revenue Service, as well as various state and local governments.

Mr. Reape assists his business clients with tax planning as well as multi-state compliance. Income tax and sales and use tax planning projects include beneficial allocation strategies and idenitification of potential nexus issues.

In addition his involvement on task forces providing review and comments to the IRS during the development of the Form 990 has provided David with a wealth of insights into what the IRS is looking for. His service to OSCPA also includes work with several committees, including the Ohio Budget Advisory Task Force, which developed and presented recommendations to the governor on restoring Ohio’s financial health. He is a long standing member and past chair of the Tax Legislation policy committee. He has written several articles on tax issues for the OSCPA magazine and CPA Voice. David was honored with the Society’s Outstanding Member Volunteer award for his contributions to the CPA profession. He is an alumnus of the Cleveland Civic Leadership Institute.

Mr. Reape is a sought-after speaker. On numerous occasions, he has developed and presented tax seminars on S-corporations, not-for-profit organizations, and state and local issues for the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants. His recent topics include:
